Horror Villains Ranked by Kill Count
This week we take a look at Horror Villains' kill count.
Personally, I am not a fan of horror movies. Getting scared is not my cup of tea. From the six movies featured above, I have only seen The Silence of the Lamb and that one, not wholeheartedly.
Having said that, when I came across the 15 Iconic Horror Villains Ranked By Kill Count article on ScreenRant I could not not make use of their data. Since the article came way back in 2020, their villains are not entirely up to date so I had to make some changes.
So here it is, the final list! From most kills to least, we have Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, The Invisible Man, Hannibal Lecter, Jigsaw, and Victor Crowley.
Michael Myers
Michael Myers was the first famous slasher movie villain, starting his "slashing" career back in 1978 while simultaneously kickstarting the Halloween franchise, which is now entering its fourth decade. Starting first surely gave him an advantage as he has managed to kill 160 people in 12 movies, with a 13 coming in the autumn of this year, which will surely strengthen his lead.
Jason Voorhees
Jason Voorhees, the protagonist of the Friday the 13th franchise has amassed his impressive kill count of 151 people on over 12 films in the span of three decades. He made his first appearance back in 1980 and his last one in 2009. So, who knows, maybe he will be back soon for more.
The Invisible Man
Third comes The Invisible Man, starring only in the 1933 movie carrying his name. Even though he didn't show, he was a cold blooded killer, causing among other the derailment of a train, that surely helped him enter this list.
Hannibal Lecter
In the fourth place we find the all too famous Hannibal Lecter. His kill count on the Silence of the Lamb doesn't warrant a spot on this list, but in 2012 the Hannibal Lecter series came out which ran for three seasons helping him raise his score to 98 deaths.
Jigsaw/John Kramer
Jigsaw, or John Kramer as his friends call him, is the star of the Saw franchise. Something I didn't know before making this post, is that the scary face with the red cheeks that Saw is famous for, is called Billy the Puppet and it's not a mask the Jigsaw wears, but rather a puppet he uses to deliver messages. What a peculiar film series! In any case, he killed 60 people in 8 movies. Gruesomely I suppose.
Victor Crowley
Last but not least, comes Victor Crowley, a character I'd never heard of before, but here he is with his 59 kills and 4 movies. The Hatchet film series he stars in, is a rather recent one, with the first film coming out in 2006. Judging by the movies' box office, he should seriously consider changing careers.
